I chose to create a chunk, block style typeface. This features sharp lines and edges and not having holes or gaps in the type. I then scanned this in so that I could edit it in Photoshop and add detail.
Once in Photoshop I neatened the edges of the type up and removed any overlapping lines. This was so to make the type smoother and look more professional.
I decided to choose a fruit theme for the type and gathered a variety of images that featured different angles and textures of oranges. I chose to do fruit as this will be a flavour of my lip butters.
I then added the image over the type and cut around each letter.
I also coloured in the lines with the colour orange, so that the type looked more like a fruit and was more effective and less harsh than a black outline.
I did this for each letter and chose a different image so that they were all different and represented the different elements of the fruit orange.
Below is the finished orange type face, I think it looks really effective as the letters are recognisable, eye catching and unique.
To finish off the design, I aligned the letters on the page so that they were all straight, to ensure the type was professional and ordered.
I chose a leaf background so that it highlighted the organic nature theme of my project, which I have reflected through creating an orange type which will be an ingredient of my lip butter pots.
