I experimented with type by trying out the 'Bee' in a variety of different fonts. I have taken a variety of screenshots to show that I have tried a sans serif, serif and script type. I only tried one sans serif and serif font due to a script font suiting the word better. Therefore I focused my attention on experimenting with script fonts.
After I had experimented with them all, I decided with this bold, brush style script font. I think this suits the word really well as it is laid back, curvy and smooth which looks really good on the package. This is due to the curviness representing bees as they are round.
I already knew from experimenting with the type board and then sketching fonts, that I wanted a sans serif or serif font to create a contrast. I chose a variety of fonts that I thought could be suitable and put them next to each other on the design so to compare and choose which works the best.
I decided to choose the sans serif font 'Quicksand', as this is a simple but readable font which stands out on the package. It also creates a really nice contrast with the script font 'Olympic Branding', which makes the brand name look interesting, unique and professional.
I then used the same 'Quicksand' font for the product name. This was so to create a sense of continuity within the design and to keep the design with a ordered amount of type so that it does not look haphazard and unprofessional. However, to create a contrast I turned the product name into all capitals, so that it was different to the product name.

For the description I chose a serif font, which creates a contrast with the brand names script and the product names sans serif. Serif fonts are good to use for blocks of body text due to them being easy to read and legible.
I then chose the 'Quicksand' font for the ingredient names. This was again to create a sense of continuity and sans serif fonts are easy to read and the legibility of them is high. This is also a important element of the design, therefore capitalising them ensures they stand out as the flavours are key information to customers.
However, the flavour and ingredient names did not stand out in the design. Therefore to fix this I created a background for the names using one of the hexagon honeycombs. I used the brightest yellow as this is the main colour and will represent what the ingredients are associated with colour wise.
I created a line out of the honeycombs so that they fitted the words perfectly and ensured they stood out on the design. I needed them to stand out due to them being essential information to the customer as they want to know if they want to buy that certain flavour/ ingredient of product. Therefore I was really happy with this design as it made the names stand out and ensured they were a key part of the hierarchy on the design.
