Colour Schemes

I based my colour schemes off my honey comb design. Although I have already chosen the colour choice as Monochromatic, I will use this experiment to decided if I need to change or keep it. Firstly, I filled the hexagon with all the hexagon shapes so to create a whole design to work on with colour.

Here is a screenshot of my work in progress whilst i'm filling in the hexagon with colour by using the fill bucket tool. Below is a screenshot of the Complimentary colour scheme. This features the colours blue and orange as they create a bright contrast due to them being opposite to each other on the colour wheel.

Here is a screenshot of the Analogous colour scheme, which features the colours orange, red and pink. This is due to this colour scheme being one where three colours are selected that are next to each other on the colour wheel. again I filled in each hexagon with the fill bucket tool so to create this colour scheme design.

Finally here is a screenshot of my triadic colour scheme in progress. I chose the colours pink, yellow and turquoise for this, due to these colours being opposite to each other but in a three formation on the colour wheel.

Complimentary

Triadic

Monochromatic

Overall, this experiment has confirmed that I will stick to using the monochromatic scheme. This is due to only needing one colour for the design as the boxes are colour coordinated with the ingredients. E.g. the yellow box will include ingredients such as banana, mango and lemon. Therefore using a variety of different colours would ruin the design as the product would not work, as the purpose of having a variety of boxes is because the different colours represent the certain colour and type of flavours that are in that box. Another thing I have learned from this experiment is to ensure my colours on the box are bright and eye catching. Due to it being a monochromatic colour scheme there is little contrast within the design, therefore to ensure it stands out on shelves I will use bright vibrant colours as this honeycomb pattern is the main design feature on the box.
