I decided to do an emulation based off exotic fruit which will be annotated so to show what they are, just like the bee copy. I researched a variety of strange and exotic fruit and drew them in pencil.
To add further detail, I used a small paintbrush and water. This smoothes out the pencil lines and lets you add detail and more colour the the piece. It also adds vibrance, ensuring the drawings are eye catching and bright.
I then added further detail by adding more colour using pencils and going back over with it in water. This was so that the drawings were full of detail like the bee illustration sheet.

I scanned the page into Photoshop so that I could begin editing the drawings and adding them onto a white page so to begin the emulation.
Here is a screenshot of my work in progress as I edit the fruit to ensure they are realistic. I coloured edited the middle of the dragonfruit as when it was scanned in it turned out grey. Therefore I cut out the grey and filled it with white and added the seeds over the top, so that it was more realistic.
Here are the edited fruit illustrations which have been placed equally and in a aligned fashion similar to the bee illustration sheet.
Next for the emulation was the inked names of the fruit to be the annotations. I did these in the same style as the bee copy - with a dip pen and ink.

I then scanned these into Photoshop and edited and chose the ones I thought would suit the emulation the best.
I then added these next to the fruits and pointed the arrows towards that fruit which is what the bee copy looked like.

Below is my emulation.
