The exam brief is to design a piece which purpose links in with one of the four topics Ideals, Perfection, Flaws and Compromises. To gain ideas for my piece I went onto thesaurus and wrote down words that are associated with each of the four words. I decided that perfection would be a good topic to do as the words beauty, ideals, precision and fulfilment all link in with the topic perfection.
I then started thinking about design ideas that could link in with perfection. These were pieces such as comics, children's books, magazine pages, creative advertising, album covers, children's magazine and packaging. I then chose subjects such as plastic surgery, makeup, bullying, eating disorders, disfigurement, that could be used as the subject for the pieces. Overall I chose to do cosmetics packaging as i feel that this fits in with perfection theme, as people use makeup to cover up flaws so that they can be perfect.
